Leadership & Legacy
Ray Colaiacovo brings unmatched expertise to every project. As the former lead media producer and director for the University of Miami’s athletic department, Ray helped elevate the national profile of their basketball and baseball programs. His work combined storytelling, branding, and live broadcast excellence to enhance the university’s media presence and fan engagement.
Ray continues to lead innovative efforts through DWP’s involvement in Major League Baseball Spring Training, managing both in-venue and televised coverage across Florida.
Combat Sports & MMA Leadership
Ray and DWP have played an instrumental role in combat sports production for over 20 years. From Miami Fight Nights At American Airlines Arena to national broadcasts with HBO Boxing, Don King Productions, and Bellator, DWP has provided elite production support across all facets of the combat sports landscape.
At American Top Team’s Coconut Creek location, Ray handled interviews, behind-the-scenes B-roll, and designed fighter walkout videos, showcasing his commitment to storytelling at every level.
Ray also helped launch two emerging MMA brands—Unconquered and Scorpius—overseeing all production elements from in-house to broadcast while crafting each brand’s identity and visual language from the ground up.
Sports Broadcasting Education & Workforce Development
In partnership with Florida Atlantic University, Digital Wave pioneered the university’s first-ever Live Sports Production course, offering hands-on experience in live event broadcasting. Now in its second year, the program has expanded to include an Advanced Live Sports Production class, also led by Ray. These courses have become a critical training ground for students looking to enter the sports media industry with real-world experience.
Building FAU’s Production Infrastructure
Digital Wave proudly oversaw the design and built FAU’s first-ever ESPN-level mobile production vehicle, enabling the university to meet broadcast standards for American Athletic Conference games aired on ESPN platforms. DWP currently manages the production of multiple NCAA sports at Florida Atlantic, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and softball.
Elevating Emerging Sports to National Audiences
Ray Colaiacovo has a proven track record of introducing emerging sports to national platforms. In 2016, he spearheaded the broadcast of the first nationally televised US Open Pickleball Championship on CBS Sports Network—a milestone for the sport. He also brought Snocross and Pro Watercross to national TV, including a CBS special that aired between the NFL game and 60 Minutes—outperforming a competing PGA broadcast.

DWP has collaborated with top-tier networks including but not limited to ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, Comcast Sports, and Tennis Channel. The company is recognized for its innovative production approach, having worked with ESPN Emerging Technologies to implement 4K Sony replay systems in college football broadcasts.
